quinoa get along?

I don’t really have a problem with people who question vegetarianism and veganism. We live in a world of choice and I’m lucky to live in a day and age where I can choose what I eat and what I don’t eat. It’s simple, really – you eat your food and I’ll eat mine. But it’s amazing how worked up people get over the vegetarian/vegan at the party. The conversation usually starts with questions like “so what do you eat?” and “aren’t you hungry?” And I don’t mind those questions because it’s just harmless curiosity.

What I do mind are the folks who flat out attack me over my choices, and say things like “God put animals on this Earth for a reason” and “You’re probably anemic.” (Oh yeah, it’s happened to me more than once!) They sound just as bad as the opinionated parents who call me selfish for not wanting to have children. (This has happened too lol. Am I going to the wrong parties?) Anyway. I won’t get into a tirade over it. It’s totally ok to be curious about another person’s lifestyle, but stick to the appropriate questions and don’t judge!

How was everyone’s long weekend? I am sporting the weirdest tan.

That’s just crazy! I am all for whatever you choose to do as long as it isn’t hurting anyone else. I wonder why others have such a hard time with that? Awesome comics, btw! I love seeing each new one, wondering what I get to see next! :)

Thanks for your comment, Paul! I think the reason new people ask 20 questions about my dietary choices is they might think I am judging people who eat meat. And I certainly don’t! I usually keep my answers short and sweet to avoid a debate.

I am glad you like the comics! I enjoy making them! :)

As a fellow childfree vegetarian, I feel your pain.

The same goes for low carb. =_=; However one thing I learned while on low carb is to never question anyone’s motivation/reasoning behind a diet.

I don’t have a problem with vegan/vegetarians. Until they get in my face about eating meat. Then it’s WAR. My weekend was pretty good though. Saw Fe Man 3 and Star Trek in one day. I had a fangasm the whole 5 hours :3

Glad you had a good weekend! I can’t wait to see Star Trek.

This is the story of my life! I think all vegetarians/vegans are doomed to endure the ignorant ramblings of those who simply do not understand our way of life. Thankfully being a nutritionist I am normally qualified to show those who attack my dietary choices a thing or two about health and wellness.
