I’m very excited to announce the launch of my web comic! My awesome boyfriend is still coding and working out the bugs, and he’s done a phenomenal job putting my site together. We’re still sorting out how the site looks in different browsers as well as making it responsive, so bear with me. Thanks very much for visiting, be you a friend or coworker, or both.
The nav bar at the top isn’t finished yet because I have to post a comic in each category in order to make them appear. The comic nav (beneath each post) wil also be fully functional once more comics go up. Oh, and keep refreshing the page because my logo changes! There are only 4 up right now, but I’m making more.
If we haven’t met, here’s a bit about me. My name’s Jennifer Herd and I’m the Creative Producer of a media company, as well as a freelance illustrator and aspiring comic artist. Needless to say, it’s a challenge juggling all aspects of my artistic life as I’m pushing forward with the career I have built for myself over the years. So that is why I am only able to update once a week. Excuses, excuses. I know.
I live in a trendy Toronto neighbourhood with this tall South African guy who I think has a crush on me. I have two adopted cats that need all of my attention all of the time, and I’ll be blaming them entirely for any late updates. I also drive a 13-year-old car which is still running well (knock on wood). I take really good care of my stuff and believe that new isn’t necessarily better.
I started this comic because I love to draw, I love to share my stories and anecdotes and I love to make my friends laugh. It’s that simple. And sometimes I even manage to achieve one of the above.
In addition to my weekly funnies, I also whip up avatars on commission at a very reasonable price. You’ll find the link on the right if you’re interested. If you have any questions about other projects you have in mind, shoot me an email, or find me on one of those new-fangled social media things.
This comic was created as an outlet for my silly ideas, as well as a place for my more involving and serious thoughts, hence the ‘real talk’ section. This is also going to be a very obvious journal for my ever-involving artistic and emotional method of story-telling. My art may be rushed on occasion, but I assure you, my thoughts are always en pointe.
And since it’s launch week, I’m posting a new comic EVERY DAY for a week! So keep checking back and share my URL with your buddies. Stay tuned for more of my jokes, blog posts and, inevitably, changes to this website because God knows I’ll look at this thing in 3 months, hate it and shuffle everything around again.
