the scariest thing ever

trying new things

I hope you’re all able to read the copy in this post! It’s one of my first attempts at playing with letters. My own handwriting generally looks like someone gave acid to a chicken and put india ink on its feet, so making words look pretty is a challenge for me. I’m still not entirely sure why I went in such a different direction with this one, but I suppose it’s part of the experimentation process I’ll be going through for a while.

I struggled with this one a bit as there is a grey outline that automatically appears on every post. I wasn’t a fan of how it looked over the lines I’d already drawn on the panels, so I removed it. I adjusted the composition and re-uploaded the comic about 5 or 6 times. I still don’t feel as though I hit the nail on the head with this one, but the show must go on, right? I’ve trashed two comics (one of which will be remade), so I have already broken my post-everything-no-matter-what rule.

Can you believe it’s already the last week of November? I saw snow this morning for the first time this year and I am STOKED. People gripe about the cold a lot, but I love love love winter. I guess I’m lucky because I don’t have much to complain about when the weather gets really bad. The subway station is outside my door and my commute is a whole ten minutes. I always dress for the weather no matter how dorky I look among all the Toronto hotties in their sexy (but not winter-proof) attire. And come on! Christmas lights! Who doesn’t love all the pretty, twinkling decorations all over the city?

Some times someone walks in, it happens. Just try to make it look like you’re doing something cool.

Haha it happened to me once! I just said hello and smiled.
